Kendra J. Choinski, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Meet Kendra J. Choinski, PMHNP-BC

Kendra J. Choinski, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of healthcare experience. She began her nursing career in 2011 after graduating from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York, and spent many years working in emergency medicine in Buffalo, New York. During that time, she developed a strong foundation in acute care, crisis intervention, and patient advocacy.

Throughout her career, Kendra witnessed firsthand how mental and physical health are often treated separately, leaving many patients without the comprehensive support they deserve. This inspired her to pursue advanced training in psychiatry with the goal of helping bridge the gap between medical and mental health care.

Kendra earned her Master of Science in Nursing from St. John Fisher University in 2024. She provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive care for adults ages 18 and older through both in-person and telehealth appointments, making high-quality mental health care accessible and convenient.

Her approach is holistic, evidence-based, and trauma-informed, with a special focus on mood disorders, anxiety disorders, stress-related conditions, and the mind-body connection. Kendra is dedicated to reducing the stigma surrounding mental illness while fostering resilience, healing, and long-term emotional wellness. She strives to create a compassionate, collaborative environment where patients feel safe, heard, and empowered throughout their treatment journey.

Kendra's Message to Prospective Clients

Life's challenges can sometimes feel overwhelming, and asking for help isn't always easy. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, or other mental health concerns, you don't have to face them alone. My goal is to provide a supportive, judgment-free environment where we can work together to better understand your experiences and develop a treatment plan that is personalized to your unique needs.

I believe mental health care should address the whole person—not just the symptoms. Together, we'll focus on building resilience, improving overall well-being, and helping you achieve meaningful, lasting change so you can feel more like yourself again.
